On behalf of silver jubilee celebration SMV College of Allied Health Sciences organized the Teacher’s Day celebration at SMVMCH .It was a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions of our teachers. The event was a blend of gratitude, celebration, and inspiration, meticulously organized to honor the educators who shape the future. The celebration commenced with a warm welcome address by students representing various specialties. They eloquently conveyed the pivotal role of teachers in shaping lives and fostering knowledge, setting a respectful and joyous tone for the event.
A special felicitation ceremony was held to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the teachers. They were honored with bouquets, thoughtful gifts, and certificates of appreciation as tokens of gratitude for their tireless service. The students showcased their creativity and talent through a series of cultural programs, including melodious songs, captivating dances, and engaging skits. These performances not only entertained but also expressed the students’ deep admiration for their mentors.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the students. They extended their gratitude to the teachers, guests, and organizers for making the celebration meaningful and memorable. The Teacher’s Day celebration was a resounding success, filled with emotions of respect, joy, and appreciation, leaving both students and teachers with cherished memories.

RIT – 6th National Conference of the Society of Radiographers 2024
Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Allied Health Sciences RGIT students actively participated in the prestigious 6th National Conference of the Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists, along with the National Level Conference for Student Radiological Technologists, held on October 5th and 6th 2024 at St. Peters CSI Church Campus, Kanniyakumari.
World Diabetes Day Program 2024
The Department of General medicine, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical college and hospital in association with Department of nursing and Allied health sciences, organized a health Camp on 11.11.2024 and spreading awareness related to diabetes through Rally program was conducted on 12.11.2024 by Nursing and Allied health sciences students.
A total of 23 AHS students (8 – CLT interns, 15- 1ST year students) participated in health camp and Rally to roaring importance spread awareness about diabetes and importance of general health checkup.
Cancer Awareness Program 2024
The Department of Radiography and Imaging Technology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Allied Health Sciences, in association with the Department of Radio-diagnosis, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital[06/11/2024]. As part of the Cancer Awareness Program, a guest lecture titled “Health Choices for Cancer Prevention” was conducted to emphasize the role of healthy lifestyle choices in reducing the risk of cancer. The event was graced by two esteemed guests:
- Mrs. Maghida, Chief Dietician & Assistant Professor, PIMS
- Dr. Umamageshwari, Head of the Department, Radio-diagnosis
A total of 184 students actively participated, showcasing a keen interest in the topic and making the event a significant success. Mr. Mathew Manikandan, Tutor, Department of Radiography and Imaging Technology, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, setting a professional and enthusiastic tone for the event. The lecture, delivered by Mrs. Maghida, to prevent cancer. It offered insightful guidance on adopting healthy eating habits, understanding risk factors, and embracing proactive health measures. The session transitioned into an engaging interactive discussion, where students posed thoughtful questions. The dynamic exchange of ideas provided clarity and inspiration, influencing participants to make informed decisions about their health and longevity. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Arulmani, Tutor, Department of Radiography and Imaging Technology. He expressed gratitude to the guests, organizers, and attendees for their contributions to the success of the event.
The lecture was a resounding success, offering students invaluable knowledge on cancer prevention and fostering a commitment to healthier lifestyle choices. The event left a lasting impression, empowering participants to make informed decisions that promote well-being and extend life expectancy.
Roentgen Day Celebration 2024
The Department of Radiography and Imaging Technology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Allied Health Sciences in association with the Department of Radio Diagnosis, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital organized an ROENTGEN DAY CELEBRATION On 08.11.2024 as a part of Silver Jubilee Celebration.
A total of 60 AHS students attended the event. The RGIT students was participated in “Poster & chart presentation, Quiz competition” and won prizes
EYE HEALTH AMONG SCHOOL CHILDREN AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2024
The Department of Optometry, Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Allied Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, organized an Eye health awareness and education program for school children. The program aimed to promote awareness about eye health, prevention of vision loss, and the importance of white cane usage.
- Dates: 12th and 13th November 2024
- Venue: Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Villupuram
- Participants: A dedicated team of 16 third-year optometry students, 4 optometry interns, and 4 departmental staff members conducted the program.
- Target Audience: Students aged 6 to 16 years
ANAESTHESIA AWARENESS PROGRAM 2024
The Department of Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Allied Health Sciences in association with department of Anaesthesiology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and hospital organized a Guest lecture as a part of Anaesthesia Awareness programme on 20.9.2024. A total of 65 AHS students attended the event. The Guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Sargunaraj A, MD Anaesthesiology (SMVMCH) on the topic of “Anaesthesia awareness under General Anaesthesia & Regional Anaesthesia”
WORLD HEART DAY – PATIENT AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2024

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY 2K24
On October 29, 2024, the Department of Psychiatry organized a CME program to commemorate World Mental Health Awareness Day, with a focus on mental health and community support. As part of the event, I year students from the College of Allied Health Sciences attended a guest lecture on the topic, “Community-Based Rehabilitation of Persons with Mental Illness.” The session explored the strategies and frameworks for integrating mental health care within communities, emphasizing empowerment, social inclusion, and sustainable support systems for individuals managing mental illnesses.
World Sight Day Celebration 2022
A guest lecture was organised by the department of Ophthalmology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar medical college, Pondicherry the eve of world sight day on the afternoon of 13th of October 2022at the college auditorium. The students of optometry of the school of allied health sciences Sri Manakula Vinayagar engineering college attended the guest lecture and participated in the written competition.
